The Resource Centre has a collection of more than 91,500 volumes consisting of books, law reports, serials and statutes The library collection are catalogued and classified according to Moys Classification and Thesaurus for Legal Materials4th ed. with subject headings based on The Library of Congress Subject Headings. The titles available in the Resource Centre collection can be accessed through its Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) at AGC's website http://www.agc.gov.my and further enhanced with the digitized books. In line with the rapid advancement in information communication and technology (ICT), the Resource Centre provides and encourages the use of online legal databases for legal officers such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, CLJ Legal Network, LawNet and Singapore & Malaysia Case Law Library and Supreme Court Cases ( India) CD-ROMs.
There are more than 100 titles of new and old Law Reports in our collection that are still referred to such as Malayan Law Journal, Current Law Journal, All Malaysia Report, Malayan Cases, Kyshe Report, All England Law Reports and Australian Law Reports.
Special Collection Room
Primary Sources of legislations can be referred in Government and State Gazettes. This valuable collection includes Ordinances, Acts, Amending Acts, PU(A), PU(B), State Enactments and legislations as well as reference sources such as Mallal's Digest and Halsbury;s Laws of Malaysia which are frequently referred to and can only be used within the Special Collection Room. Special collection consists of old collection of The Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States pre 1950's. Due to limited copies, these collections are for reference only and cannot be borrowed.
Special Legislations Collection of Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Laws Pre 1950s
The AGC Resource Centre has undertaken a digitization program whereby as many as 279 volumes of Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Laws Pre 1950s have been digitized into CD ROM format with hypertext links for quick and easy reference. Digitization is also for the preservation of old legal materials which are valuable and still in use. The listing of Straits Settlements /Federated Malay States Laws Pre 1950s have been compiled by the Resource Centre for reference.
Law reports are the basic primary source on law comprising of reported court cases and are often referred to before going to court. There are more than 90 titles of law reports available in the Resource Centre collection such as Malayan Law Journal, Current Law Journal, All England Law Reports and Australian Law Reports. At the same time unreported cases can be referred to in CD ROM format.
The library collection consists of reference and text books which are made available on open shelves and can be borrowed. Books/monographs on law form a substantial part of the Resource Centre collection which also includes books on management, leadership, information technology and competency assessment (PTK) for use by officers and staff.
Serials form another part of the Resource Centre collection which includes journals, magazines, newspapers and bulletins subscribed to and occasionally received as gifts. The Resource Centre subscribes to more than 70 titles of journals and magazines as well as seven (7) major local newspapers. Parliamentary Debates, also known as Hansard, are also an important part of the library collection.
Law Collection CD-ROM
The Resource Centre has a collection of CD-ROM on Singapore Malaysia Case Law Library which includes reported cases (1932-2008) published in Malayan Law Journal (MLJ) and unreported cases (1991-2008) MLJU, articles on law (1992-2008) Malayan Law Journal and Singapore Law Report cases which are reported (1965-2008). Supreme Court Cases (India) too have been subscribed by the Resource Centre for the reference of legal officers.

AGC's Resource Centre has digitized 340 books consisting of Pre 1970?s Legislation including Federated Malay States Enactments and Straits Settlements Laws in CD-ROM format to provide easy and quick access to the materials.
